I had a bad situation in 2009 where my small intestine fell right out thru my vaginal wall. ofcourse the gynacologist acts oblivious to the fact that maybe it should not have happened. how do I know ? I had a full hysterectomy , rectocele and cystocele in 2006. only 9 mos. later I started to protrude again or bulge. eventually it ripped right thru my vaginal wall.

I hope you can provide me with further information on complications due to transdermal vaginal mesh, or websites to check. My 82 yr old mother had this procedure for a prolapsed uterus approx 2 yrs ago; she knew immediaely it didn't work however the real problem began about 8 wks ago. She began experiencing exruciating 'back' pain to the point she's had to literally crawl to the bathroom. A couple of wks ago due to her abdomen swelling she went to the ER & she was given citrate & a cortisone shot, saw her Dr the next day who did x-rays, over the weekend she got worse. Last Monday they did a MRI & thought there might be a compression fracture which they 'repaired' Wednesday afternoon, now, a week later the problem is even worse. (My mother is a retired RN who until the last couple of months danced at least 3 nights a week, did all her yardwork, water aerobics--extremely active.) There's no apparant infection, her uterus is still prolapsed (if possible worse) and the dilaudid barely even touches the pain. My question is has there been any nerve damage associated with the mesh? Where can I get more information on problems associated with the mesh? I know this may not be her problem but we now know it's not related to a back injury or abdominal blockage. Any information, or possible websites will be appreciated. Holly
