According to a recent warning letter dated February 6, issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a Florida herbal supplement maker has two herbal supplements that they believe have prescription strength medications in them, therefore, they are in violation of FDA guidelines.
The letter states, after an inspection into the distribution firm “FDA has determined that SlimXtreme™ Herbal Slimming Capsule (SlimXtreme) and ViaXtreme™ Ultimate Sexual Enhancer Dietary Supplement for Men (ViaXtreme) are unapproved new drugs.”
Global All Wellness LLC claims the herbal products are providing solutions for weight loss and male sexual performance problems, stated the Orlando Sentinel. The FDA says that SlimXtreme contains a controversial obesity drug banned in the United States over increased risks for heart attack and stroke. ViaXtreme contains the active ingredient of Viagra, wrote the Sentinel.
The FDA’s warning letter says that both products contain the undeclared presence of these medications and that this constitutes a violation of the law, according to the Sentinel.
