Stung by the warning letter the Food & Drug Administration has issued to seven pharmacies over their compounding of bio-identical hormones, the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP) has just issued a press release. The release states that two groups that are “supposedly independent women’s health organizations” have actually received funding from Wyeth, which had petitioned FDA to take action against bio-identical hormones. IACP urged the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) to disclose their financial ties with Wyeth.
