Depakote, also known as valproate, is often characterized as taken by individuals suffering from seizures. It is an anticonvulsant drug, which is often prescribed by medical practitioners to stabilize the mood. Medication has been used to treat bipolar illnesses, migraines, as well as manic depression.
The FDA has noted Depakote as being a dangerous and harmful drug. There have been cases where it has caused life-threatening liver failure. The FDA has warned women not to use the drug during pregnancy as it has also been known to cause birth defects.
